Are you looking for a gamepad that has a few extra features not found on other products? Are you willing to spend the extra money? Then the Razer Onza TE might be the PC game controller for you. The biggest advantage this gamepad has is the fact that you can adjust the tension on the mini joysticks. We also found the 2.5 mm microphone jack useful if you need to stay in contact with your team. In the end, we weren't sure the extra money was worth the tension settings, but it is a good product overall.

Features
One of the features that sets this PC game controller apart from the rest is the tension controls on the mini joysticks. This adjustable resistance means that you can choose exactly how much force is required to move the joystick. This helps you control even the finite movements you may need to make during gameplay. No other brand of gamepad offers this customization option. There are some games that don't need the control of walking a razor's edge, but for the games that do, you will have complete control over your character. While this is nice it does make the Razer Onza TE more expensive, which may not be worth the trade-off.

This gamepad doesn't have anything beyond the tension settings that sets it apart. The layout of the buttons is that of an Xbox controller, which is expected because it works on an Xbox 360 as well as your PC. We would have liked to see a profiler built in so if you come across a game that doesn't recognize the gamepad you can set up the buttons how you want them.

The Razer Onza TE has a 2.5 mm microphone jack for those games that let you communicate with other team members. We thought this was a nice touch for them to add because there are quite a few collaborative MMORPGs and first-person shooters that connect you with other players across the world. Granted, it doesn't come with a headset; you'll have to purchase one of those separately.

Convenience
It is wired with a 15-foot cable. You don't need batteries so you can eliminate packing spares as you head to the next tournament. With such a long cord, this means that you don't have to worry about being limited in where you can sit. We also found the quick-release USB connector to be really nice. We liked how easy it was to pop the USB out but still know that it was in there securely so that it wouldn't fall out if jiggled.

Help & Support
Though you shouldn't need much help and support with a gamepad, we like there to be a contact option should you come across a game that doesn't automatically register the PC game controller's function. Razer provides some good information in the way of FAQs and contact information. The FAQs are really easy to find, but it would have been nice if the other support information were a little easier to find on the website.

Summary:

Overall, there are some distinct advantages to getting the Razer Onza TE. One is that you can adjust the tension on the analog sticks to suit your needs. We also like that it comes with a microphone jack so you can talk with others who are playing the game as well. The downside is the price. You pay extra for these features, so if you don't need them you might want to save a few bucks and get another gamepad.
